A circle has no beginning and no end, which is why a ring became the symbol of a promise. Couples have exchanged them for thousands of years, and the custom of wearing one on the fourth finger comes from the old belief that a vein there ran straight to the heart. At BARAKAT, every wedding band is made to be worn daily and to last for generations.
Choosing your band
Court
Gently curved inside and out. The most comfortable profile for everyday wear and a timeless choice for both men and women.
Soft Court
A flatter face with softly rounded edges: modern to look at, with the same easy comfort on the finger.
D-Shape
Domed on the outside and flat on the inside, so it sits close to the finger. A traditional, slightly slimmer feel.
Flat Court
A crisp, flat surface for a contemporary look, with a curved inside that keeps it comfortable all day.
Width & weight
Width is measured in millimetres and weight describes how deep the band is. Most women choose between 2 and 4 mm, and most men between 5 and 7 mm, but the right answer is the one that suits your hand and sits well beside your engagement ring.
A heavier band feels more substantial and wears more slowly. A lighter band is delicate and stacks beautifully. We are happy to let you try several at a private viewing before you decide.
Plain, diamond-set or eternity
Plain bands let the gold speak for itself and pair with any engagement ring. Diamond-set bands add a line of brilliance, from a single stone to a row across the top. Eternity rings carry diamonds all or half the way round and are often given to mark an anniversary.
Every band can be engraved inside with a date, initials or a few words.
Our metals
Yellow Gold
18K, warm and classic. Pure gold is too soft for daily wear, so we alloy it to 75% gold for the ideal balance of colour and strength.
White Gold
18K, bright and cool, finished with rhodium to make diamonds sparkle. A quick re-plate every few years keeps it brilliant.
Rose Gold
18K with a soft pink glow from a touch of copper. Romantic on women's bands and striking on men's.
Platinum
Naturally white, dense and hypoallergenic. It weighs more than gold and develops a soft satin sheen with time.
Questions
It does not have to, but the two should sit comfortably together. Bring your engagement ring to a private viewing, or tell us its style, and we will suggest bands that fit flush beside it or shape a band to curve around it.
Use our ring size guide, or visit us for a professional sizing. Wider bands fit more snugly, so we often recommend a quarter size larger for bands over 5 mm.
Yes. Engraving inside the band is complimentary on every BARAKAT wedding ring: dates, initials, coordinates or a short message.
Most wedding bands are ready in two to three weeks. If your wedding is sooner, tell us and our atelier will do its best to meet your date.
Yes. We can make a pair in the same metal and finish with different widths, or a men's band that echoes the design of her ring.
